 A Gift to the body of Christ, Derrick Db. Coleman was born on Nov 2, 1980 to the parent of Mary F. Coleman-Boston at Bartow General Hospital, in Bartow Fl. His father, who was not able to be apart of his life and or development, incited his Grand Parents (Clifford & Creola Coleman) to step up to the plate to help raise this little gift from above. Growing up, Derrick's family noticed immediately that he was naturally gifted to sing. Around the age of 3 or 4, Derrick began singing in the youth choir at his local church. As time progress, Derrick's vocal abilities progressed as well. Derrick began to be active in all the school activities that involved singing or anything to do with music. In the Sixth Grade, Derrick fell in love with orchestral music, thus prompting him to want to play an orchestral instrument. Derrick then began to play the Cello and excelled in the art and after auditioning, was accepted into Harrison Visual and Performing Arts Center, in Lakeland Fl. (A school for exceptional gifted students). During this time, Derrick's teachers notice his ability not only to play, but also to sing. They began encouraging him to take Voice lessons to better enhance his vocal ingenuity. Derrick then began to take lessons and explore the different styles of singing: styles that would include, Opera, Jazz, of course Gospel (traditional & Contemporary), and theater performance. While in high School, Derrick sang in a School Gospel Choir in which he started up and from there, he began to embark on his journey into his calling as a Psalmist of God. Derrick, unlike other young men, was given a peculiar voice which allowed him to sing the highest Soprano, to the lowest Tenor. As time went on, Derrick's range did not change, but blossomed into who he is today. The Lord opened several doors for him to sing and back up some of the most influential Gospel Artist of today. (Please see Portfolio) Derrick growing up in a traditional church, now attends New Life Deliverance Praise and Worship Ministries Inc, in Winter Haven, FL under the Awesome Leadership, of Pastors: Apostle/Prophet Gregory L. Hawthorne Sr. & Prophetess Lisa J. Hawthorne. Derrick is on the Ministerial Staff at the Church (New Life Deliverance) and is also the Praise and Worship Leader for the Ministry. Today, Derrick is working on his First Solo Project, which should be out later this year and clinging to the Prophetic Words that has been spoken over his life, concerning his future. BASIC FACTS = I LOVE JESUS, BECAUSE HE FIRST LOVED ME. LISTEN, KNOW THAT WE ALL SINNED AND FALLEN SHORT OF THE GLORY OF GOD. WE HAVE ALL DONE SOMETHINGS THAT WAS NOT PLEASING TO GOD; BUT IN THE MIDST OF OUR PAST, GOD CAME IN AND CLEANSED US AND BEGANS TO WALK US THROUGH OUR DELIVERANCE PROCESS...NOW I BELIEVE THAT TRUE DELIVERANCE IS A PROCESS AND WHILE WE GO THROUGH IT, IT'S UP TO US, TO BE PERSUADED NOT LET ANYTHING OR ANYONE SEPERATE US FROM THE LOVE OF GOD.. KNOW THAT YOU ARE SOMEONE SPECIAL TO GOD, SO STAND FOR RIGHTEOUS, STAND FOR TRUE HOLINESS. IF YOU DON'T STAND FOR SOMETHING, YOU'LL FALL FOR ANYTHING. I DON'T KNOW ABOUT YOU, BUT I'VE GOT TO MUCH TO LOSE TO GO BACK IN TO THE DEVIL'S PLAY GROUND... THE BEST IS YET TO COME.
